About Us - Backfire Boards
Founded in 2009 by Randy and Jerry, two university buddies with a shared obsession for skateboarding, Backfire Boards were born out of a desire to make incredible boards reachable. Frustrated by the overpricing of top-rate equipment, they spent years in R&D, eventually launching their first electric skateboard in 2012.
Today, Backfire is a global chief within the "e-skate" industry, recognised for its G-collection (avenue), Zealot series (belt-force), and Ranger series (all-terrain). As of January 2026, the employer has accelerated its horizons by launching a committed electric scooter line, starting with the M8 Rover. Based in Richmond, Virginia (USA) with deep roots in technical engineering, Backfire keeps to prioritise a "rider-first" layout, ensuring every board offers both uncooked energy and delicate control.
